MLM Reps left out in the cold ... Do Not Give Up!

So  I talk about how uplines have to be better. This post concentrates on what to do if your MLM sponsor just isn’t good. Having a bad MLM upline is no excuse to not have success, this post will help.

Join the club! lol It is rare to not have this happen. With the low barrier of entry of network marketing and the amount of people that don’t understand the idea of being a long term thinker, the chances of your marketing sponsor pitching you another deal is pretty high. In fact, until I understood  I was guilty of this too!

Let’s define right now..are you an independent business owner? Or are you just a number in someone’s downline? I seriously hope you understand that there is a different vibration with each one. You cannot become a leader and build a serious business if you are hinging your success on ANYONE but you. Would we all like the ideal upline who is there for us always? Yes, of course, however, have networkers had major success even despite having crummy uplines? Absolutely.

 If you are thinking that you would have more success if your upline was perfect, well, you are going to prove that thought by NOT having the type of success you truly desire. This phenomenon is similar to most people desiring to be right more than to be happy. Give up and let go of the fact that hardly anyone ever has a perfect upline and just succeed anyway.

Here are some concrete things you can do right now if your upline is needless to say crappy:

1) Go above them. Try to reach out to your company support or other leaders to find out who you can get support from. You would be shocked at how many calls I get from people that called the support desk of my primary company because they had been abandoned and support gave them my number. I welcome that as should other reputable leaders in your company. Forget them, suscess is not based on you its

2) Make sure to attend every company function. If there is a major national event or training going on, make sure you get your butt there so you can meet some of the other leaders and you may find out that there are other leaders in your backyard that would welcome you snapping into the meetings.

3) If all attempts to reach out and find support have failed, decide if you are going to continue with that company or find another. Too often stay in a situation they know they don’t like and time is the only thing you cannot get back. In my opinion, support and leadership is way more important than product or compensation plan as we are in the people business. I would still be with my first company if my MLM sponsor had not been absolutely terrible, so, sometimes bad things happen for a reason and you look back and are grateful.

If you decide to stick with a company despite its terrible support, stop COMPLAINING about it. Decide to stay or go and either decision, stick with it. Build the hell out of your business despite all the reasons you should fail and you will inspire those that come after you that have similar circumstances.

No Excuses 3 Summit .... Recap

April 20 - 22 , 2012 Will go down as a milestone in the personal history books as those that actually take action. Literally, people have attended were blown away by the sheer awesomeness of content rich and electric energy that was displaced over the three day weekend. I literally got cramps from writing almost a book of the events that transpired. If there is a event for Internet Marketers / Network Marketers then this is the event for you! 

I already signed up for the Next Years Event, I recommend if you want to make your business explode. Ninety percent of success is showing up. For anyone planning on making the connections with the leaders and or creating / formulating / networking or with anyone else then this is the event for you! 

            I had the pleasure of sitting in a intimate group of people over the weekend. I got to learn form our wonderful host Diane Hochman but  with SURPRISE GUESTS....Adam John Chandler and Jordan Schultz...
that delivered the goods. We were literally given customized plans laid out for each of us!



It is a genuine interest in others  and the caring of the outcome of others. I can only imagine what great things are going to come from this awesome weekend in Las Vegas!


If you ever have the opportunity I cannot express to you on a personal basis about going. This can make the difference between taking you 6 months or 2 years....

Success In YOUR home based business is possible ...


As I sat in a conference with my team to learn more about how to build a Home Based Business, I realized that there was a key difference between those of us who work the business full time, and those who wish they could...

I wondered why everyone in the room (there was about 40 of us), why each and every one is not able to quite there job and work the business full time. Now, I know that it is not practical for most people to do so, and I actually don’t recommend it for most people right out of the gates. But there seems to be a key difference between those who will go home and BUILD the business and those who won’t.
Let’s talk about the majority of people first – those who WILL NOT actually go home and build the business. Now, half the battle is to SHOW UP to the presentation, the training, the seminar... so it’s great to see many people were there.

But people seem to be bottled up with fear. Fear of approaching, fear of success, fear of rejection...
The concern I have with this is that if people are serious about building a home based business that will set them free, they HAVE TO FACE their fears... head on. I didn’t know that this business DEMANDS PERSONAL GROWTH when I first got started. But that is what it’s about.
You see, we are our own worst enemy. We create the fear, the distractions, the procrastination etc. But if YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR DREAMS, you will take a good look at yourself and ask, are you the type of leader that others will want to join? If not, understand your fears and insecurities and work on them!

This home based business industry can offer you the world. But you have to be able to GET OVER YOURSELF and push through your fears. Easier said than done isn’t it.
Well, let me share with you what I believe to be the key to building a home based business.
The Key ingredient is your DESIRE to achieve success. Does that sound a bit airy to you? Well, it’s true. That’s why most companies will get you to figure out your ‘why’, you know, why is it that you want to build a home based business. What’s really in it for you?
So every time you have that little voice inside of your head question whether you can do this or not, tell yourself that your DESIRE TO SUCEED is greater than your fear.
Building a home based business is not easy, if it were everyone would be doing it. But one of the main reasons this business is not ‘easy’ is because of the state of mind that we enter the business with. It took me a couple years to build my business with confidence. A big part of that was because I was not aware of what it would take to build this business. I didn’t realize that it was me that I had to work on, not others.

I had the vision of how my lifestyle would be like when I get there – working a home based business full time. And I’m stubborn as hell; nobody could take that vision away.
I want to be a bit more concrete then just saying you have to figure out your fears because that’s just a part of the equation. You have to DEVELOPE YOUR SKILLS to succeed in this business. You have to be a student of this business. So figure out what area you are weak in and buy the books, listen to the audios; do whatever it takes to get exposed to the right information and practice like any other professional in any other field would.
There are a countless number of materials out there and I will share those with you over time. So get serious with yourself and realize what is at stake here. It’s those things that you desire... are they worth getting uncomfortable?
When you are building a home based business you are building an asset that will offer you the things and lifestyle you’ve dreamt of. Develop your skills and build your business.

Attention Network Marketers NEVER BUY LEADS!!!

After approaching just about everyone I knew in my warm market, I was told about buying leads and how I could speak to 'highly qualified' prospects.

What I notice in this Network Marketing industry is that there are highly dedicated people who are willing to do just about anything to succeed. I am one of those people. So when I went full time in my network marketing business I was faced with a challenge that I think most network marketers are face with.

And that is, there are only so many people who I personally know who might be interested in building a home based business. After you approach the people you know it becomes increasingly difficult to build your 'pipeline'. The next step that I've seen many fellow Network Marketers take is to find a reputable lead generation company and start the continuous journey of buying leads.
I was so stubborn and willing to try anything to get my business to grow. I sat for 4 to 6 hours a day calling leads. I did not realize that there is a systematic flaw with this approach. And this flaw is carried over to just about everything we do in the business.

The fundamental flaw with calling leads is that we are chasing our prospect. If what we have to offer is so great, doesn't it make sense for us to position ourselves in such a way that we are being sought out? Is this contrary to everything you have been taught about Network Marketing, to have people call you?

As we make the calls to these people seeing if they qualify for our business, the people on the other end see us as needy. Everything we do - call them, present, follow up five times - is a direct reflection of what it's going to take to build the business. Here's something that I have learned and it has completely changed the way I build my business.

People do not join your company because of your products, compensation plan or because they are publically traded on the NASDAQ. People are joining You.
When you realize this everything changes. The way you present yourself and even present the company will change. You need to answer their two questions;

1) What's in it for me?
2) Can you help me get it?

Buying leads tells the prospect loud and clear, you are not a leader. Think of the top leaders in your company. Do you think they are calling up leads seeing they are interested in joining your business? There needs to be a shift from chasing people to having people chase you.

Position yourself as a leader. Buying leads is simply not the way to do it. It is not easy to duplicate for others in your down line, you will end up wasting money and more importantly time.

Ever heard the expression "3 feet from gold?"


You may also consider forwarding this to anyone and everyone you know in marketing.

People come into the network marketing profession every day. People also LEAVE the network marketing profession on a daily basis as well.  There are two specific reasons why people can get frustrated, disgruntled and end up quitting. And the worse part is…I’m talking about people who have ALL THE POTENTIAL IN THE WORLD to make things happen in this profession, yet still quit.
The good news is that it CAN be avoided.

Everyone who comes into this profession enters with the INTENTION or the thought of making it successful. I don’t know of anyone who has ever entered the profession of network marketing or direct sales with the intention on failing or quitting.

It is vital that you have REGULAR communication with your team members so you know exactly where their thought processes are with regard to how things are going in the development of their business. If you leave them too long on their own, there is a good chance that they end of moving in the wrong direction…and by the time you get to them, it is entirely too late.

This is by far one of the most important messages I have posted on my blog in the past few months. I generally don’t talk about anything unless it is important, but this particular message is certainly worth viewing…and passing along to your team.
Why do good people quit network marketing?

Let’s look at it for a moment.
Good people quit network marketing oftentimes because a) they don’t see success in within the time frame they expected, or b) they put in effort and energy only to feel ‘let down’ by individuals they sponsored and hoped would get to work but then don’t.
Now…there are a number of other reasons why individuals DO leave this profession, but the ones I am referring to here are those who have gotten in and actually expended energy and effort to get things moving. You WANT to keep these people. You want your WORKERS…your DOERS to stay in.

Providing people the proper framework/mindset and realistic expectations can certainly lead you to a higher amount of personal retention. Attrition is a natural part of any business, but much of it can be prevented through CLEAR COMMUNICATION on a regular basis.
If you’ve ever felt like quitting or had people on your team that have felt like it too, then you are not alone. PUSH THROUGH your 3 feet away from gold!

Beware Scam, Giftgiving, Money Tricks

I am a HUGE proponent of capitalism in America. I LOVE the internet and network marketing and direct selling.

But…what’s with all the crap out there?

Have you seen some of the hokey websites out there...

Seriously…I cannot believe the kind of shit that is promoted out there as a ‘legitimate’ way of making ‘long-term’ money.

I remember seeing people on the the internet just a year ago... their site is gone and they are ghosts out the door... they made their money at the expence of others .

I get calls from people who pitch their offer to "secure a spot".

Look…I’m all about business. But, NOT business that jacks people for their money. Legitimate business takes time to build.

When I hear names like “Cash ATM Machine”or “The Cash Generator”, I seriously want to vommit.
.
Most of my readers have one thing in mind…to make a nice life for themselves and their families and to get out of the drudgery of working for someone else.

WARNING: This is a PERSONAL warning. If you are one of those ‘chasers’ who are playing these little money games trying to convince yourself that they are legit, I guarantee you that you will fail. You will get SCREWED. Or worse, you’ll bring a friend in, have them lay down their $2000 or whatever it costs, and they’ll be screwed. Not a good way to keep your friends.

My advice to you. Pick a good company with a real product and put your head down. Put your blinders on and bust your ass. There is no ‘easy’ way to create wealth. If there was, everybody would be doing it.

Look out for companies that have to say 100% legal in their advertisements. Why would you even have to say that? 100% real. O.k.

100% chance of getting shut down and left in the cold is what I have to say.
Simple. Be smart. Do your homework. Ask some REAL experts. Get the facts. Don’t be blinded by your own desire to create change. You need to have clear vision.
There are tons of great opportunities out there.

Making this life Mean Something

I was thinking deeply a couple of nights ago as I lay in bed with my mind still spinning from the days activities. I do that often…lay in bed, my mind moving a million miles an hour, thinking, pondering, creating.

I began to think about life’s PRIORITIES and MY life’s PURPOSE.(No it was not a mid-life crisis episode)

We, meaning the human race, go through the same cycle as every other human being on earth goes through (but…with an infinite myriad of different experiences during that life cycle).

We’re born, we learn, we grow, we grow old (at least some do), and then we die.
The human race goes on and on through procreation (you know…sex, babies, hopefully more sex, and then maybe more babies depending on an individual’s preference).
What is YOUR life’s purpose?

Looking even deeper into our life cycle, it will proceed as follows for the great majority:
You are BORN into this world, totally unconscious (in terms of one’s mind).
Ages 0-7 most individuals go through what is called an IMPRINT period, absorbing everything around them like sponges, accepting much of it as true, especially coming from our parents. If raised in a decent family, one will learn the difference between right and wrong, good and bad.

Between the ages of 8 and 13, we go through the MODELING period, where we copy people…often our parents, friends and those that we are around the most. We try new things, much like we try a new set of clothes to see how it “fits” on us as individuals.

Between the ages of 13 and 21, we go through the SOCIALIZATION period, where we are largely influenced by our peers and the media, as we seek to be around those that we see or feel are similar to us.

Somewhere along the way, during or after the SOCIALIZATION period, many individuals seek out and find what they hope to be life partners, create and bring children into this world, and perpetuate the human race ad infinitum.

There are many, many, many other things, experiences, traumas, triumphs, tragedies, joyful and dreadful experiences…and an absolute mass of “other stuff” that happens to everyone, everywhere, wherever they exist throughout the world.

One of those experiences is WORK. Let’s face it, to survive on this planet one must have money. Some choose to do what the masses do and get a job. Most people who are reading this are probably part of a smaller group of people that truly have a desire to create greatness in their lives and in the lives of others.

Again…remember, at one point, wherever that point is, we all die.
While we are here, and why I am writing this particular post is simple.
How do we go about living a life of real PURPOSE?
It’s easy to go through life, going through the motions, working, eating, sleeping…living. But…
What is THE PURPOSE?

My friend Mark Yarnell says that “you must have a goal that is bigger than yourself.”
I agree with that.
Why not take it a step further and instead of just talking about “business” goals, have a discussion on the purpose of YOUR ENTIRE LIFE?

You ever ask yourself, “Why am I here?” or “What IS my purpose?”
While lying in bed the other night unable to sleep, I pondered this question greatly.
How do we live a life of balance, fulfillment, joy and happiness while leaving a legacy knowing that what we’ve done during our small amount of time on planet earth has made a SIGNIFICANT difference in some way, shape or form?

I don’t know what your beliefs are, but I believe in a Higher Power…God.
This post is not to get into a discussion over religious preferences, debates over Darwinism, whose religion is right, or anything close to that.

I sat down and wrote out my priorities for living a life of PURPOSE.
IF you believe in God, or whatever you may call your Higher Being, isn’t it important that we first SERVE Him in all that we do?

Next…my priority is me (or, in your case…YOU). Why? Without your existence, how can you possibly make a difference. So…if you are serving YOU, without maintaining quality of mind, body and soul, one simply withers away. You can’t help your kids if you’re dead. You can’t build a business if you are dead. You can’t do anything that I’m aware of in death. So…as you end this year, and begin the New Year of 2008, make sure you take care of YOU. Because without you, nothing is possible.

For those of us that are in relationships and looking to create long term unity, which doesn’t seem to happen so often in North America and throughout the world for that matter, tender to those relationships. Focus on that partnership. Don’t ignore it. Don’t take it for granted, and don’t let it slip.
BTW…I am not saying that I’m not guilty of any of these things I’ve just mentioned, or any of the things that I will mention, because I have. AWARENESS is the beginning of change.
Next…your offspring. That is, if you choose to take that route. I did. And while every moment isn’t exactly the most pleasurable experience, raising children is one of life’s greatest joys. Those of us that are parents or plan to be have a monumental responsibility of raising our offspring to become the greatest they can possibly be. I will never take that for granted and never forget how critically important that is.

Lastly…at least kind of, is your livelihood. How you choose to make your living each and every day to survive and thrive while you are here, to provide food, shelter and security for your family is certainly of grand importance.

Obviously, most if not all of you reading this post are involved in some form of Internet or Network Marketing opportunity. Your position (or bonus check), as small or large as it might be at this very moment in time has the capacity to continue to grow even well beyond some of your wildest expectations.

How are you acting while building your business?
Are you just doing it for the money, the cars, and what ever else your mind might ponder?
Are you just going through the motions every day?
Are you “grinding” away trying to make a buck, forsaking all the other far more important things that life is all about?
Or…
Are you going out into the marketplace, living a life of grand proportions, a life that is truly PURPOSEFUL, making major differences for the better in all those that you touch, and doing so for the greater good of all mankind, knowing in your heart and with complete Faith, that you truly DO have a REAL and PROFOUND PURPOSE?
